Boy smilingElastics are an important part of your orthodontic treatment. They exert pressure in a specific direction to move your teeth. The different sizes denote varying amounts of pressure. The size of the elastics you wear may be changed from time to time. You must wear elastics to straighten your teeth. Your teeth may be a little sore at first, but the soreness will soon disappear.

Please remember:

  • Attach your elastics as instructed. Make sure you're wearing the correct size. Wear elastics all the time, including while you are eating, unless otherwise instructed.
  • Take your elastics off while brushing your teeth and replace them right away.
  • Change your elastics once a day. Put on new elastics when they break.
  • Always carry extra elastics so you can replace a broken one immediately.
  • Do not run out of elastics. Call us and we will keep you supplied with the correct size.

Please call if you have any questions.
